Chroma key compsting is a special effects technique for layering two images together which is highly useful when wanting to remove a background from a photo or a video. this is mostly used with motion pictures or video games but can be used with music videos and can be very effective. It is edited together using a colour range which is then made transparent and then reveals the other image which is behind. This technique is called colour keying and colour separation overlay. It does not always have to be green screen but can be blue screen or with any colour that is uniform and distinct, but green and blue backgrounds are more commonly used because they differ most distinctly in hue from most human skin colours.
